Underground Latin Gem

Wanting to satisfy my craving for something new and worth my buck, I head over to the underground passage of Columbus Circle, West 57-59 Streets to check out the shops & eateries. I found Bolivian Llama Party's menu to be intriguing. Featured in the New Yorker, this spot features saltenas, the Bolivian version of empanadas.

I tried their Beef/Beni saltenas, a flaky pastry on the outside, but beef pieces (not traditional ground beef) and hard boiled egg immersed in a savory sauce on the inside. It is served with green spicey aoili with slight pesto taste. Beni saltana is an A+ and a recommend.  The Bolivian meatless mac n cheese: on the salty side with a kick.
