THE HUMANITARIAN: REFLECTION OF ZAMBIA 2008 - 9 HOUR TRAVEL
"Op Op Op. STOP" The vehicle drove slowly over the speed bump and then sped again for 90 miles per hour until the next speed bump. Following the itinerary of the Irish team, we packed on vans and drove 9 hours south from Lusaka to Livingstone, Zambia. For what you might ask? To visit the infamous Victoria Falls, one of UNESCO's seven wonders of the world and a safari tour.
There was much rainfall in the previous months in the area and so the falls had accumulated more water than usual. We done on heavy ponchos, and traded our shoes and sneakers for flip flops.
A narrow bridge serves as a walkway in front of the falls and unto the unknown...
Safari and river boat cruise lunch was our next venue treat.
