Zambia's Nshima
This is Nshima.
Nshima (the white round thing) is cornmeal that is a little drier and more thicker and tougher consistency than mashed potatoes. It is the Zambian equivalent to Latino's rice and beans or the Asian's white rice. It has a neutral taste like mash potatoes with no fillings and it compliments the flavors of the veggies and meat or protein. In this meal, I have collard greens and stir fry egg.
How does one eat it?
Your bare hands of course! Scoop the Nshima and add veggies and the egg, and pop it in your mouth.
Delicious!
