Oh My Sympathies...

I was in a mood for some authentic tea & crumpets. I decided to venture in Tea & Sympathy to try, possibly an authentic English fare. I got there a little before their lunch time. There were groups sitting outside as the place is quite small (23 occupants) & not so spacious (it's a little tricky to even open the door). A little upgrade on the place may help.

A huge pot of tea was $5 already (which will give you 5 cups). They were served in various decor of tea sets & tea pots. All the decor, including their walls & plates were quite busy. I have to say, they have accumulated a lot of plates with the picture of William & Kate in it.

They had a wide selection of teas & I chose one of my faves - English Breakfast. I was hoping to just have their popular scones, but I got really hungry. Because it was a really small place, one becomes very aware that you can't stay beyond a couple of hours to chit chat (but they won't be outright give you that impression).

I just went to use the restroom and when I came out, I discovered that  my friend & I got moved to a different table to accommodate a party of 4. They gave us more tea on the house (that's 10 cups for the day).  I ordered their chocolate cake bec. they gave us an extra pot & had a feeling we were going to stay longer. The cake was very luscious with the chocolate filling, but good for 2. In the end, tea, sandwich & desert cost me an arm & a leg. I felt so dehydrated like I drank 3 cups of expresso. That's my first & last visit. I am going back to my Twinnings.
