R&R Getaway

If you asked me earlier this year, I didn't anticipate spending my summer and birthday days in Haiti. I dreamed of sitting by the beach or lying in a hammock tied to 2 palm trees. Yet, life had other plans and priorities that brought me to Haiti. In the days that I have been here, I have seen the beauty of Haiti and its people - contrary to what is projected in the world. But God did answer my heart's desire. Had a day trip to Moulin Sur Mer in a town of Montrouis about 1.5-2 hours outside of Port-au-Prince. 

This hidden gem is found only by turning to a narrow and off beaten path a mile from the main road. The beach resort consists of hotel rooms, a large garden and small "zoo" area, a pool, and the blue-green sea. For under $50, the day pass includes the use of the facilities and a lunch buffet. For reasonable fees, one can also rent a kayak, boats, etc. for a couple of hours use. This is a well-worth place to spend a day trip.
