Sight-Sound & Amish land...

In the midst of a busy schedule, I needed to get away for a little time of rejuvenation. I went to where I always wanted to go - the mountains and hills of Pennsylvania. In the middle of Lancaster and Amish country, my immediate family are regulars in visiting and watching Christian musicals in a place called Sight and Sound. Stories from the Bible are taken and creativity is added to result in a musical.

This time, I watched the story of Jonah.
Located at the top of a hill - the Sight and Sound Building.
The rolling hills reminded of my last visit to Sight and Sound. It was group of 15 of us young folks. I know some, but not all. We watched a show and spent the weekend in town. We played card games, pulled a surprise b-day, and shared stories. It was in this place that my New Jersey family was knitted together. What a blessed memory!

I booked an overnight at Hershey Farm Inn and Restaurant. A quaint inn at the foot of the hill of Sight-Sound Theater. It has a bakery, garden shop and country store that sells Amish food and goods. The restaurant, it has become pricey over the years, is all-you can eat buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Price range is from $19-22/person.
I love country home cooking! As guests of the inn, we had complimentary breakfast for 3 people. The bakery had the most awesome Zucchini bread I've ever had (it tasted like cinnamon nut raisin bread). Without breaking too much of the waistline, I packed my plate with scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage, and Dutch Kelbasa sausage.

I wanted to be curious of the taste, this is shoefly pie - local fare of Dutch area. Not in the picture, another typical fare is whoopie pies (round cookie bread stuffed with cream in the middle). Yeah, enough to walk out with a pot belly! But the food is oooh sooooo good!!!

 Some of the area scenes...
Taking a peaceful stroll and basking in the stillness of the place...
They were kind enough to let me pass through...
